The signing between BKCons, REACTEC, UPLIFT, and the seminar on the application of BIM models in construction projects

In support of the activities of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Civil Engineering in developing professional skills programs, the Alumni Board of the Faculty of Civil Engineering has implemented the BKCONS-Academy model in collaboration with the REACTEC Center for Applied Construction Technology Research and UPLIFT company, aiming to develop professional skills training programs for students and alumni.

The ceremony for signing a comprehensive strategic partnership for the construction training program between BKCons, REACTEC, and UPLIFT was held on the afternoon of January 6, 2024. Representatives from the three units, Dr. Luu Xuan Loc - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering - Director of REACTEC; Mr. Dinh Viet Duy - Member of the University Council, Head of BKCons liaison; and Mrs. Pham Thi Bich Nga - Director of Uplift Training and Consulting Company, signed the cooperation agreement.

Accordingly, the parties will collaborate to develop and implement training courses on technical expertise and supplementary skills for students, engineers, and management levels in the field of Civil Engineering. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, expects that these programs will provide additional knowledge, skills, and new technology applications in the field, thereby helping to develop the capabilities and passion for the profession among students and learners.

Following the signing ceremony was the seminar "Application of BIM Models in Construction Projects: Current Status and Challenges," which attracted over 150 participants. The seminar was led by experts in the BIM field and construction engineering in general, including:

Dr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc - Chairman of the Board of Searefico E&C, and Deputy Head of the BKCons Liaison Committee.

Mr. Tran Tan Phuc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Portcoast Consultant Corporation, specializing in Port and Coastal Engineering Design.

Mr. Do Thieu Quang - Deputy Director of the Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Works, Ministry of Construction.

Mr. Nguyen Khuu Trong Luat – Director of the Coteccons Design Center.

Dr. Luu Xuan Loc - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering - Director of REACTEC Center.

Drawing on their experience, the speakers shared practical insights about the advantages and challenges of implementing BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). They discussed different approaches to successfully deployed models as well as updates on technological applications and developments in the construction industry.

Through the discussions in the seminar and the symbolic sand pouring ceremony into the Academy emblem - demonstrating the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the units - it will not only assist the involved parties but also provide the Faculty of Civil Engineering and its students with opportunities for future development.
