Ho Chi Minh City leverages digital transformation inspired by Industry 4.0 to manage its metro system and major transportation projects

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong has just asked departments to research and apply digital management 4.0 to the entire metro system and key transportation projects in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City applies a digital management model to new projects such as Metro Line 2 (Bến Thành - Tham Lương), Ho Chi Minh City - Mộc Bài Expressway, Xuyên Tâm Canal, Ring Road 4, etc. This helps Ho Chi Minh City manage the "lifecycle" of projects more effectively.

Previously, Mr. Cường attended a report meeting on the application of digital transformation in surveying, planning, designing, managing construction, and operating projects on the digital platform of Portcoast.

Mr. Trần Tấn Phúc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Portcoast - affirmed that the application of digital transformation technology in the construction and management of transportation and urban infrastructure has become a global trend.

Recently, the unit has conducted surveys, planning, designing, supervising, quality inspection of construction, and operational management for many different projects in ports, metro lines, heritage projects, etc., in Vietnam and worldwide.

Regarding the early application of digital management, the Ho Chi Minh City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, and others are most concerned with the efficiency of restoring data of existing underground infrastructure systems (electricity, water, telecommunications) to resolve many current issues.
