Ho Chi Minh City cooperates with Ninh Thuan in 5 areas

Speaking at the Economic-Social Development Cooperation Program for the 2023-2025 period in Ninh Thuan on the afternoon of April 14th, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Van Mai, stated that the city will collaborate with Ninh Thuan in five key areas where both sides have advantages.

5 key areas of cooperation

At the program, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuận Province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City agreed on 5 key areas for the period 2023 - 2025 and the following years, including: Tourism development; Supply-demand connection, investment and trade promotion; Development of science and technology, digital transformation, human resource training; Agricultural development; and Cooperation in adapting to climate change.

Mr. Trần Quốc Nam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Thuận Province, stated that these are areas where both localities have advantages.

According to Mr. Nam, it is necessary to continue enhancing coordination in promotion activities, inviting businesses to invest in construction and real estate; promoting high-quality tourism projects; supporting human resource training, linking labor supply and demand, and labor export...

Ninh Thuận Province also proposed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City continue to share experiences regarding local policies in investment support, develop coordination plans for promotion and investment management; and regularly meet and exchange experiences in attracting and improving investment procedures between the two localities.

From 2014 to 2022, through economic and social development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Ninh Thuận Province, Ninh Thuận attracted 24 investment projects from Ho Chi Minh City businesses, with a total capital of over 31,500 billion VND.

The investment projects cover a wide range of fields such as renewable energy (wind power, solar power), seaports, manufacturing industry, agriculture, tourism, commerce, services, labor, employment, healthcare, education and training, science, and technology...

Establishing a general information exchange mechanism

The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized the city's responsibility, actively implementing the signed agreements and showing proactivity in coordinating the program with Ninh Thuận Province.

"We also suggest that Ho Chi Minh City businesses and leaders of departments and agencies of both localities actively implement the mentioned fields," Mr. Mãi said.

According to Mr. Mãi, to achieve high results in the cooperation program, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will direct the city's departments and agencies to closely coordinate with those of Ninh Thuận Province in each field.

"There will be a mechanism to regularly exchange and update general information in the implementation of cooperation contents," Mr. Mãi emphasized.

Mr. Mãi committed to creating the most favorable conditions and accompanying city businesses in investing and implementing cooperation programs in Ninh Thuận Province.
