HUCE and Portcoast Inaugurate the Digital Transformation Center in Civil Engineering

On May 21, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the Digital Transformation Center in Construction Engineering took place at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE). The event marked a new milestone in the collaboration between HUCE and Portcoast Consultant Corporation. At the same time, it represented a significant step forward in integrating digital technology with construction engineering. It is hoped that the outcomes achieved by the Center will contribute to enhancing the quality and efficiency of civil engineering in Vietnam.

At the event, Mr. Trần Tấn Phúc – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Portcoast – shared the company’s strategy in cooperating with higher education institutions to integrate modern technologies such as BIM, GIS, and AI into academic training and research. HUCE is one of the strategic and important partners in this initiative. Mr. Phúc noted that the company is currently involved in many major domestic and international projects, and partnerships with universities like HUCE are a key focus in order to contribute to training high-quality human resources, supporting research, and transferring technologies in alignment with digital transformation and sustainable development trends in both Vietnam and globally.

Representing HUCE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Xuân Anh – Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council – expressed his expectation that the newly established Digital Transformation Center in Civil Engineering will serve as a hub for training, research, and university–enterprise collaboration, thereby enhancing the quality of human resources and promoting the digitalization process in civil engineering. He also hoped that the Center’s research outcomes will lead to widespread application and technology transfer within the construction industry across Vietnam and the region.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoàng Tùng – Rector of HUCE – committed to providing the best possible conditions for the effective operation of the Center. He shared that the personnel assigned to operate the Center include experienced lecturers and experts from the university. He hopes that as the collaboration between HUCE and Portcoast continues to grow, the Center will play a pivotal role in coordinating and leading research and cooperation activities in digital transformation for civil engineering and related fields, contributing significantly to the university's training mission and the national goals of industrialization and modernization.
