The Union of S&T of HCM City (Joint Association) held a meeting with the members of the Executive Board of the Joint Association to get in touch with Mr. Tran Du Lich – The deputy head of HCM City congressional delegation (Congressional Delegation) to express the inner feelings and aspiration of the intellectual class and the comments for the 4th session of the 13th National Assembly.

Attending the meeting were all the members in the Joint Association Executive Board and a few association members, especially there was Mr. Nguyen Tho Chan a revolutionaries elder, former member of the Executive Committee of the Central Committee Party the 3rd, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in the former Soviet Union, former Minister of labour, who is 92 years old had a relative brought to the meeting, had contributed enthusiastic comments and expressed his inner feelings deeply and emotionally.

The delegates have contributed a lot of comments relevant to the Congressional Delegation and Mr. Tran Du Lich was receptive and promised to express to the Congress and will meet the delegates again after the Congressional meeting to report the results of the expressed contributions of the delegates at the meeting.

The Central Association of S&T of Structural Engineering of Vietnam and the Structural Engineering Association of the port of HCM City had coordinated in organizing the meeting – exchanging between the leaders of the S&T Associations of Structural Engineering of South Vietnam under the chairing of Dr. Nguyen Tan Man – Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Association of Structural Engineering of Vietnam with the sponsorship of Portcoast Consultant Corporation (PORTCOAST).

Attending the meeting were delegates of the Executive Committee of the S&T Association of Structural Engineering of the East and Southwest provinces (HCM City, Dong Nai, Ben Tre, Binh Duong, Long An, Dong Thap, Ba Ria-Vung Tau) and the S&T Associations of Structural Engineering of Corporations belonging to the MOT of HCM City such as CIENCO 6, Cuu Long Corporation, Tedi South...etc.

This is the first meeting of the S&T Association of Structural Engineering of the South region held by The Central Association of S&T of Structural Engineering of Vietnam to exchange as well as to have the gathering and direction of the Central Association, listening to the delegates propose their innermost feelings, aspiration and presenting issues relating to the General Planning of Traffic Transport of the West and Southeast region. The delegates proposed to hold this annual meeting yearly in order to gather and bring forth potential strength of scientists of the Traffic Transport sector for the construction and development of the industry in the South region.
