Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical Project Vietnam

Client/Owner: Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (Joint-venture project sponsored by PetroVietnam, Kuwait Petroleum Europe B.V. (KPE) from Kuwait, Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd and Mitsui Chemical, Inc. from Japan).

Location: Nghi Son refinery and petrochemical complex is located in the Nghi Son Economic Zone (Thanh Hoa Province), approximately 260km away from Hanoi, Vietnam.

Marine facilities at the Nghi Son refinery include single point mooring (SPM) for 320.000DWT VLCC, a breakwater, crude oil import pipelines, loading / unloading jetties for 50.000DWT Oil Tankers, a service ship quay & materifflal ooading quays. A 48in-diameter and 35km-long crude oil pipeline will run between the SPM and the tank storage facilities for the import and export of products. Construction of the refinery complex commenced in October 2013 and mechanical completion was achieved in April 2017.
